"Been with State Farm for several years. Had a break into my work truck and had some equipment stolen. Called the branch to see what could be done for filling a claim. At this time I was in the process of buying a home in Portland but due to a situation with the seller it fell through. I had been switching my renters to home owners insurance at this time. I call and notified the office when the house fell through and that the renters would need to be reinstated. I get a message a few weeks later saying I owe State Farm for my home owners insurance and called the office to ask why that hadnt switched things over. They finally corrected the issue and told me that for the renters to be switched back my insurance would be jumping 75 dollars a month due to the claim. This was never explained when I asked if i should file a claim as the only thing they were covering was 1500 from one of my work laptops not the 10k in work equipment I lost. Every other agency ive called in the area explained to me that its standard to walk a client through the risk especially for such a little pay out. Anne Marie informed me of this and I said I would look around as I wasn't happy but I would be back if the prices were all the same which they were. I was told I had till the 20th and have emails as well and I was told by the old women who takes 20 minutes to write down an email address that this isnt possible. Well due to the first ever claim ive ever filed with an insurance agency now I cant be insured for 36 months in Washington. I cant speak for all State Farm locations but avoid this office unprofessional and incompetent staff."
